"Homogeneous Diversity" at 72 x 40 inches is one of the largest pieces I have completed. What you see is the third or fourth image to emerge as I worked through the colors and process, resulting in 10 to 12 layers of paint. As I studied this final version to determine where it came from, I saw it as a representation of a group of men I have the privilege of gathering with each week. We are drawn together by a common belief system, yet we all come from very different backgrounds with very different experiences. Each member of the group brings nuggets of wisdom to share and sharpen the others. Homogeneous Diversity - the culture of gathering in small community groups to walk together through the minefield that is life.
